a. What is the diagnosis?

Eczema herpeticum.

The condition is caused by herpes virus and is characterised by widespread vesicular rash seen typically in patients with atopic eczema. Primary eczema herpeticum tends to be associated with
systemic symptoms with malaise and fever. However, the systemic symptoms tend to lessen with recurrent cases.
 

b. How would you treat this condition?
Patient should be given systemic acyclovir and this can be either orally or by IV depending on the severity.
