Fluorescein angiography:
Case nine
a
What does this fluroescein angiography show?
Answer
This frame is taken at the early venous phase
showing an abnormal right macula. in the right
fundus. There are areas of hyper and
hypofluroscence. The hyperfluorescence area
has a lacy pattern and since its early
appearance is consistent with a subretinal
neovascularization. The hyperfluorescence
areas is deep to the retina and blocks the
choroidal fluorescence and is consistent with
subretinal haemorrhage..
The patient has
a wet form of age-related macular
degeneration leading to subretinal haemorrhage.
