What does this scan show?
Answer
This is an axial T2 weighted MRI scan
showing abnormal areas (black
spaces) in the left hemisphere. The
most likely diagnosis is arteriovenous
malformation.
What may the patient complain about ?
Answer
Unilateral headache (from recurrent small
haemorrhages).
There may be weakness or sensory
abnormalities of the right side of
the body.
If the malformation involves the visual
pathway, there may be hemianopia.
