Medial canthal basal cell
carcinoma
Left medial canthal basal cell carcinoma in a
84 year-old woman. A complete excision is essential becuase of the risk
of orbital spread. To preserve tissue and ensure complete excision, Moh's
procedure is the preferred method of excision before excision. However,
because of the long waiting time, a two stage procedure was performed.
The first stage involves excision of the tumor with 3 mm clear margin.
When the histologist declares the tumour is completely excised. The second
stage involves reconstruction with a glabellar flap.
