| While
studying in Germany, Rizal published his novel Noli Me Tangebe in
1887. The novel exposed the colonial
oppression of the Filipinos by the Spanish government and his desire for the native to determine their future. In 1896, Rizal organized an independence movement but was arrested by the Spanish government and executed in Luneta Plaza in Manila at the age of 35. Philippines (1986) |
