Fluorescein angiography:
Case five
a
What does this fluorescein angiography show?
Answer
The picture is taken from the right fundus at the
venous phase. There are multiple circular ares
in the upper macular with both hyper and
hypofluorescence. These are photocoagulation
scars. At the superotemporal regions there are
patches of hypofluorescence. These may
represent areas of non-perfusion or retinal
haemorrhages. The patient has had laser
treatment for macular oedema secondary to a
right branch retinal vein occlusion.
