 Degas was born in Paris on the 19th July, 1834. 
His most famous scenes, the ballet dancers were 
painted in his 40s. He created many scenes of 
bellarinas from only one live model in his studios. 
The three pictures were respectively the self 
protrait (left ), ballet dancers done with pastels 
(below) and a sculpture of bellarina created in his
