An English painter
(self-portrait above). He made
his name with land and seascapes. In his old age, he became obsessed
with depicting the power of light
using especially yellow in most of his painting. This
was thought to be the result of developing cataract.
Two of his paintings were shown to illustrate the
distinct outline of his subjects (above right at an
early age) and the hazy appearance of his later works
(below right). |
